2025 U-20 AFCON: The Flying Eagles From Nigeria Beat Senegal And Reserve World Cup Tickets

Nigeria’s Flying Eagles on Monday sealed through to the semi-final stage of the ongoing 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, taking place in Egypt.

This is following their narrow victory against Senegal in the quarter-final encounter.

Both teams failed to produce a goal after 120 minutes as the match ended in a 0-0 draw at the Suez Canal Stadium in Ismailia.

However, Goalkeeper Ebenezer Harcourt was the standout performer, making two crucial saves for Nigeria when the game went into penalty shootout.

The Nigeria team then advanced to the last-4 after beating Senegal via penalty-shootout on 3-1.

With the result, they have now secured qualification for the U-20 FIFA World Cup.

The semi-final stage which will take place on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Nigeria had won the competition seven times in the past.
