The campaign for the All Progressive Congress (APC) ticket in the 2027 Ogun governorship election has officially begun. According to the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), the struggle is between the following individuals:
Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi)
He is a current senator who previously represented a district in Lagos State before moving to Ogun State to represent the Yewa people, all in preparation for a run at the state’s highest office.
Hon. Minister of Finance, Wale Edun
He is the current minister of finance and is not a politician; he had no ambition to govern the state until he became a minister.
Former House of Representatives Speaker, the Right Honourable Dimeji Bankole
We all know that Bankole was a representative for several years before becoming speaker of the House. The gist is that he wants to govern Ogun State. This has not been confirmed, but every rumour, as they say, contains an iota of truth. That singular achievement, he believes, has now put him in a position to replace Dapo Abiodun as the landlord of the government house in Abeokuta.
Hon. Minister, Bosun Tijani
Another minister, like Edun, now believes that because he has been a minister for the past two years, he can lead Ogun State.
Anyway, we will have to wait and see who the president will support, especially since Edun and Yayi are making it difficult for Governor Dapo Abiodun to decide who to support.
However, none have confirmed their willingness to participate in the race.
