Assemblies of God Church, Ogbor Uvuru in Imo State’s Aboh Mbaise Council has advanced plans to dedicate the first ever multi-billion Naira Noah’s Ark Church building, philanthropically financed and donated by Engr. Success Obioma Akagburuonye.
The event, which is already gaining global attention as a one-of-a-kind church building, an epitome of world-class architectural masterpiece with a holy aura and aesthetical ingenuity, has become a tourist attraction and pilgrimage site.
The former President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, the Executive Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma, Rev. Dr Uma Ukpai, Rev. Dr Sarah Seoh of Los Angeles, USA, Traditional Rulers, Captains of Industry, Political Leaders, and other dignitaries will attend the historical dedication ceremonies on Saturday, May 24, 2025.
The General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Church in Nigeria, Rev. Abel Ukachi Amadi, Ph.D., will declare open the ecclesiastical architecture, one of Akagburuonye’s Kingdom investment gestures, located in his Ogbor Uvuru home.
The Ark, in form, shape, and service, is a replica of the Biblical Noah’s Ark, with the same spiritual mandate of saving everyone, casting no doubt on God’s power to deliver unto the end.
The event is also expected to attract a large number of faithfuls, tourists, and pilgrims from all walks of life, as word of the transformative church auditorium has spread across the continent as a source of spiritual comfort.
Akagburuonye, a die-hard Kingdom investor, philanthropist, and real estate mogul who claimed to have built the Church under the inspiration and direction of the Holy Spirit, captured the Ark’s implications as follows:
“The Noah’s Ark Church symbolises faith, obedience, and salvation. Noah’s story serves as a powerful reminder of God’s promise to save those who trust Him.
“According to the biblical account, Noah spent 120 years building the ark in accordance with God’s detailed instructions.
“Many mocked him as he built the ark, questioning its purpose and relevance. Nonetheless, Noah persevered, believing in God’s promises. When the flood came, those who mocked him were swept away, while Noah, his family, and the animals were safe on the ark.
“Even the snail, which was often slow and appeared insignificant, sought refuge in the ark, escaping the deluge that destroyed everything else.
“This story teaches us an important lesson about faithfulness and obedience to God. However, this is important in life because others may doubt or mock us.
“I searched the world for a church designed like Noah’s Ark but could not find one. So I worked with architects to bring this vision to life.
“We collaborated, experimenting with designs until we arrived at this magnificent structure.
“This church will provide a place for spiritual growth, refuge, and salvation. I believe that anyone who comes to the Ark to call on God Almighty will be saved and their desires fulfilled.
This was decreed by God. It is a place of physical and spiritual safety. This is consistent with the Biblical instruction that “Anyone who comes to the Ark to call on God will be saved.
