2027 Presidential Race: El-Rufai Believes the Coalition Will Overcome Tinubu

Former Kaduna State governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai says the opposition coalition will ensure President Bola Tinubu is removed from office in 2027.
El-Rufai said Tinubu will be removed, while the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani will be retained in the next government.
El-Rufai, who is a chieftain of the Social Democratic Party, said Tijani is doing good work and therefore should be retained.
El-Rufai spoke at the Arewa TechFest in Katsina on Wednesday.
Boasting about the coalition, El-Rufai said the opposition will send Tinubu back to Lagos in 2027.
He also revealed a “very important meeting” took place between him, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, Peter Obi of the Labour Party, and other opposition stakeholders.
Recall that El-Rufai, Atiku, and Obi met on Tuesday night to finalise the formation of the opposition coalition.
It was gathered that arrangements for the launch of the opposition coalition have been concluded and the body will soon be launched publicly.
The coalition, spearheaded by Atiku, aims to wrest power from Tinubu in the next presidential election.
El-Rufai said, “Yesterday at 8 PM, there was a very important meeting of the coalition we’re putting together to ensure that President Tinubu goes back to Lagos.
“Though we will still keep Bosun Tijani, we will still keep the minister because he is doing good work.”
