One expert argues that even with disinfectants, there is one region of the body that needs to be cleaned. Some people report that cleansing the ear can hurt rather than assist.

He also added that using a cotton swab to wipe your ear can be dangerous for your ears since you can accidently push your ear. He says that doctors have raised concerns about how safe cotton is, and in some situations, doctors also want the rules to be made public so that people know how risky they are.

They further claim that many people continue to purchase prescription medicines despite being aware of the dangers involved in doing so.

Because of this, it’s ideal to wipe the outside of your ears with a soft sponge, but you don’t need to clean your ear canals because they clean themselves.
