Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barr Nyesom Wike, former President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, former Jigawa state governor, Suleiman Lamido, former governor of Osun state, Chief Olagunsoye Oyinlola among other Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftains have started arriving for a crucial meeting slated for Abuja.
Blueprint learnt that the party would be taking critical decisions against the spate of defections and other issues plaguing the main opposition party lately.
Wike, who arrived at the meeting venue a few minutes ago, drove in his black G-Wagon, dressed in a black jalabiya.
The party’s Governors’ Forum, it was learnt, also invited former governors, Board of Trustees members as well as theNational Working Committee members for the meeting.
Other NWC members who have also arrived are the party acting national chairman, Amb Umar Damagum, the national legal adviser, Kamaldeen Ajibade, SAN and national Organising secretary, Umar Bature
In the same vein, the governors of Osun state, Ademola Adeleke; Plateau state, Caleb Mutfwang; Oyo state, Seyi Makinde; and Adamawa, Ahmadu Fintiri have arrived Bauchi Lodge, venue of the stakeholders’ meeting.
Other governors are those of Enugu, Peter Mbah and Zamfara, Dauda Lawal, secretary of the BoT and former Kaduna state governor, Ahmed Makarfi; former Bayelsa state governor, Seriake Dickson, former Osun state governor, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, former Enugu state governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and former Benue state governor, Samuel Ortom.
The rest include former Niger state governor, Babangida Muazu, former Bauchi state governor, Adamu Muazu, former Sokoto state governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, and former governor of Akwa Ibom, Udom Emmanuel.
Led by its chairman and Bauchi state Governor Bala Mohammed, the follow-up meeting, according to an insider, would, among other things, be used to gain stakeholders’ support for decisions made in Ibadan bordering on the way out of its afe-long crisis.
Specifically, the party is expected to deliberate on the disputed National Secretaryship position, the upcoming National Elective Convention (NEC) slated for this month, and how to address gales of defections staring it in the face.
