BREAKING: I Would Have Moved to Niger Republic if the Borders Were Open – Ex-President Buhari

Former President Muhammadu Buhari has revealed that he continues to receive visitors from various parts of the country despite his efforts to stay as far away from the nation’s capital as possible.…CONTINUE READING
Buhari said this in an interview on NTA’s “Conversations With History” program, which aired on Monday night. He expressed his surprise at the continued influx of visitors despite his remote location. “People charter buses and come to see me from time to time,” he said. “I thought I had stayed as far away from Abuja as possible, but they still come.”
Buhari went on to say that he would have considered relocating to neighboring Niger if the borders were open. “I would have gone to Niger if the borders were opened,” he quipped.
Earlier in the interview, Buhari had downplayed any sense of nostalgia for his time in office. “Miss? I don’t think I miss much,” he stated.
This sentiment echoes a similar statement made by Buhari in December 2022, just six months before handing over power to his successor, Bola Tinubu. At the time, Buhari had expressed doubts about whether he would miss being President. “I believe I’m trying my best, but still, my best is not good enough,” he declared. “I wonder if I am going to miss much. I think I’m being harassed.”
