BREAKING: President Tinubu Approves Armed Forest Guards To Reclaim 1,129 Forests From Terrorists, Bandits

President Bola Tinubu has approved the establishment and deployment of a new corps of armed forest guards to secure 1,129 forests across the country. This strategic move is aimed at flushing out terrorists, bandits, and criminal gangs who have been using the nation’s forests as hideouts for their operations.
The initiative, a joint security effort between the federal and state governments, will see thousands of young Nigerians recruited, trained, and equipped to take on this critical national assignment. The President has mandated that the forest guards be fully trained and armed to effectively carry out their duties.
The Office of the National Security Adviser (NSA) and the Federal Ministry of Environment have been directed to oversee the implementation of the initiative and ensure its timely and efficient execution.
President Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to national security, declaring that not an inch of Nigeria’s territory will be surrendered to terrorists or criminal elements. He emphasized that the government is resolute in its mission to reclaim and secure all forested areas currently under threat.
