BREAKING: Technical faults throw Abuja, Port Harcourt into blackout

Published

on

The Abuja Electricity Distribution Plc has said residents of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, are currently experiencing power outage. The power outage, according to AEDC, was a result of a major technical fault on a 15 MVA, 33/11kV power transformer at 1×15 MVA, M44 Charley Boy Injection Substation.

Areas affected by the technical fault include Gwarimpa, Roads 63, 64, 69, lya Kasuwa, Adkan Estate Gwarimpa, and environs.

Management of AEDC expressed regret that the repair of this transformer might linger till January 22, due to the scope of work required to be done.

While appealing for the understanding of its customers, the AEDC said its engineers were working ‘tirelessly’ to restore electricity to affected areas.
