[BREAKING] U20 AFCON: Flying Eagles Will Have Enormous Support Versus South Africa – Nigeria Embassy In Egypt

The Nigeria Embassy in Egypt has assured of its readiness to rally massive support for Flying Eagles when they face South Africa in the semi-final clash at the ongoing U20 Africa Cup of Nations inside Suez Canal Authority Stadium Ismailia on Thursday night.

Deputy Chef Chargé d’Affaires at the Nigerian Chancery in Cairo, Mallam Garba Ishaya, who disclosed this while speaking to Blueprint said already the embassy have contacted various leaders of the Nigeria’s community in parts of Egypt.

He said beyond the support the Nigerian team got when they played against Senegal in the quarter-final, more supporters are expected to storm Ismailia.

He said, “The embassy has been mobilising high-level support for our Flying Eagles team and we are committed to ensuring that they get the needed cheers when they play against South Africa.”

While congratulating the team for securing 2025 U20 World Cup ticket, the embassy’s top official said part of arrangement was to provide transportation and food for Nigerians willing to cheer from the stands.

Nigeria had won the tournament seven times.

Ahead of the last four clash, both the Flying Eagles’ players and officials have vowed to beat South Africa and reach the final of the current edition.
