CP Warns Against Killing My Men As Anambra Hoodlums Resume Attacks

Ikioye Orutugu, the Commissioner of State in Anambra State, has warned that he will not tolerate losing any of his men to hoodlums.
In a chat in Awka, Orutugu expressed regret that hoodlums had not learnt their lesson and had continued to destroy public property and kill unarmed citizens.
According to him, in other parts of the country, hoodlums avoid public property because they believe that when the chips are down, that is where they will turn.
Orutugu lamented that the burning and destruction of public property, including police vehicles, has taken a toll on the state’s security logistics.
He spoke as the state joint team resisted an attack on the security checkpoint in Isuofia, the hometown of Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
According to a statement issued by Police spokesperson Tochukwu Ikenga, two armed hoodlums were neutralised, while one casualty was recorded, and one operational vehicle was burned.
Orutugu, on the other hand, assured that the Command will apprehend the perpetrators, citing the act as a test of Ndi Anambra’s collective resolve to dislodge criminal elements in the State.
Ikioye condemned the act and saw it as a test of Ndi Anambra’s collective resolve to work with security forces to remove and eliminate criminal elements from the state.
He assured that the Command would apprehend the perpetrators of this unpatriotic act.
Meanwhile, calm has returned to the area, and security has been reinforced with more armed operatives now combing nearby bushes for possible arrest of the fleeing miscreants, the statement concluded.
