Effective Remedies to Heal Cavities in Your Teeth

Cavities are small openings or holes in the hard surface of your teeth that are permanently damaged. Cavities, also known as tooth decay or caries, are caused by several reasons, including germs in the mouth, frequent snacking, drinking sugary beverages, and not brushing your teeth thoroughly...CONTINUE READING THE FULL ARTICLES HERE

If a cavity is identified early enough in the demineralization process, the initial stage of tooth decay can typically be reversed. To restore the minerals in your teeth and prevent decay at this stage, you must practice good dental hygiene.

Here are ways to get rid of cavity:

Root of licorice

According to at least one study, extracts from the Chinese licorice plant (Glycyrrhiza uralensis) can fight the germs that cause tooth cavities.

One researcher has gone one step further and designed a licorice lollipop to aid in the prevention of tooth decay. Pilot studies using licorice extract in a lollipop revealed that it was effective in reducing S. mutans in the mouth and preventing cavities. Larger, longer-term research is required.

Crowns.

A crown – a custom-fitted covering that replaces your tooth’s whole natural crown — may be required if you have considerable decay or weakened teeth. Your dentist removes all of the decaying region as well as enough of the remaining tooth to guarantee a proper fit. Gold, high-strength porcelain, resin, porcelain fused to metal, and other materials can be used to make crowns.

Root canals

are a type of root canal treatment. You may need a root canal if decay has reached the interior material of your tooth (pulp). Instead of extracting a seriously damaged or infected tooth, this procedure repairs and saves it. The infected pulp of the tooth is removed. To treat any infection, medication is occasionally injected into the root canal. The pulp is then replaced by a filling.

Existing cavities will not disappear on their own. These techniques, on the other hand, may prevent cavities from growing larger and new ones from appearing. They can, at best, assist in the remineralization of softened or weakened parts of your enamel before a cavity forms.

The earlier a cavity is identified, the easier it is for your dentist to repair it, therefore see your dentist frequently.
