I’ll Tell My Story – Chioma Akpotha

Following her emergence as ‘Best Lead Actress’ for her role in ‘Seven Doors’ at the recently held Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award, AMVCA, famous actress, Chioma Akpotha has expressed her sincere gratitude to her fans and colleagues.
Last Saturday, the actress defeated Gbugbemi Ejeye (Farmer’s Bride), Uzoamaka Onuoha (Agemo), Uche Montana (Thin Line), Uzoamaka Aniunoh (Phoenix Fury), Hilda Dokubo (The Uprising: Wives On Strike 3) and Bimbo Ademoye (Anikulapo: Rise of the Spectre) to take home the award.
‘Seven Doors’, which had 11 nominations, also won the award for ‘Best Score/Music’, through Tolu Obanro.
In a clip on her Instagram page, the actress said that she is still trying to wrap her head around the win.
“I didn’t want to come before now to start crying again and start embarrassing my village people and my family members, so I wanted everything to sink in before coming to say something. I’m still overwhelmed.
“I’m still going to celebrate with each and every one of us the best possible way I can, but this is just to say thank you. I wish I can share my story. But one day, I will. I just want to say thank you. This win is not just mine. It’s for everyone that has stuck by me throughout my journey in Nollywood. Thank you. It’s our win,” she said.
The actress also addressed her fellow nominees, stating that the win is theirs as well.
“We’re in the same industry. We’re here to breathe life into character. So you all are all winners. We’re all winners,” she added.
