A young lady has taken to social media to share her unexpected and frustrating experience at the 2025 Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) audition.
According to her, the audition venue was overcrowded with hopeful contestants, and to her surprise, they were allegedly asked to pay a ₦1,600 registration fee upon arrival. This contradicts public expectations, as BBNaija auditions are usually known to be free.
She also expressed disappointment at the nature of the selection process. Despite being instructed to come as their authentic selves, she claimed it seemed that only those who were scantily dressed stood a real chance of being noticed.
In her opinion, the organizers may have already selected their preferred housemates behind the scenes, with the open audition serving as a mere formality.
She said in part …
“If you have plans for auditioning for BBNaija in your life, I’m not saying you shouldn’t audition o, but let me tell you something. I just got back from audition for Big Brother 2025, I’m not angry, and I’m not saying this out of a place of hate, I already had it in my mind that’s it’s 50/50, either they pick me or not. But tell me why you guys are collecting 1,600 from each person that goes to register… They know the specific kind of people they want, that’s if they have not picked them already, so don’t waste your time….”
Her account has sparked mixed reactions online, with many users questioning the fairness and transparency of the audition process.
