Obi Went To Vatican To Chase Clout – Reno Omokri

Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has said ex-presidential candidate, Peter Obi, needs to confess that his presence at the Vatican during the inauguration of Pope Leo XIV was uninvited.
This was after a video showed the moment Obi was being bounced by Vatican security guards when he tried to enter the VVIP section of the inauguration event.
According to Omokri, Obi’s intention of going to the Vatican was to chase clout and take photos with the Pope so as to boost his image before his supporters.
He wrote on X, “Peter Obi Caught In Another Papal Lie
“Instead of all of this shalaye, Peter, why not just tell Nigerians the honest truth? You went to the Vatican uninvited. You wanted to use the occasion to chase clout, which is why you attempted to inveigle your way into the VVIP section. Cardinal Arinze did his best to get you in, but you were bounced.
“Your target was to meet Pope Leo XIV, be photographed with him, and use that photo to famz for your horde of very rude and insulting Obidients. When the plan backfired, you then released this post saying that you did not meet the Pope because, to use your own words, ‘That honour was reserved for heads of state and accredited diplomats.’
“Peter, that is a blatant lie! And you manufactured it to cover your embarrassment at being a Papal Knight who could not even see the Pope, much less have a handshake with the Pontiff.
“The truth is that during his inaugural mass on Sunday, May 18, 2025, Pope Leo XIV met with not one or two but many ordinary people who were neither heads of state nor accredited diplomats. The difference between you and them is that they were invited, while you were not.
“I urge my readers to fact-check me: According to the Vatican, the Pope met and exchanged words with many ordinary people who attended the mass.
“The Pope did not meet Peter Obi because he was an uninvited guest, and there were concerns in the Vatican that Obi would politicise any such meeting.
“Those fears have since been vindicated as Peter Obi returned to Nigeria to politicise the Pope’s message and use it against the Tinubu administration.
“Nigerians should ask themselves this question: If even the Catholic Church, of which he is a Knight, does not rate Mr Obi highly, then why should they?”
