Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Olalomi Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has shared his opinion on the recent transformation of Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson, particularly her noticeable weight loss.
Reports had earlier surfaced about the actress’s slimmer figure, sparking widespread reactions online. In response, Mercy Johnson addressed critics in a TikTok video, brushing off negative remarks with a sharp retort.
Reacting to the buzz, Portable expressed surprise upon learning that the actress was married. He reminisced about watching her in movies during his younger years and noted how much she had changed.
The Zeh Nation artist commented on Johnson’s previous curvier appearance and said he initially assumed she had undergone cosmetic surgery. He went on to criticize the trend of body enhancement among women, using Mercy Johnson as an example of natural beauty and self-acceptance.
According to Portable, some people had reportedly made remarks about Johnson’s figure, which may have influenced her husband to encourage her to lose weight for the sake of peace in their home.
He also gave a shout-out to women from Kogi State—Mercy Johnson’s home state—for their well-known curves and suggested that the actress might have slimmed down to shift attention away from her physique.
