Precision Strike By Nigerian Air Force Destroys Borno ISWAP Stronghold, Kills Hundreds

The Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) has carried out a successful precision airstrike, neutralising dozens of Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists and destroying key logistics hubs within the Timbuktu Triangle, a notorious insurgent enclave in Borno State.

According to intelligence sources available to Zagazola Makama, the strike was executed around 1500 hours on Thursday in the Chiraliya area, a well-known ISWAP hideout. The operation was based on credible intelligence and real-time surveillance.

“Our platforms launched a deliberate and highly coordinated air interdiction at the Chiraliya terrorists’ hideout,” one source confirmed. “We achieved direct hits on multiple targets, including makeshift shelters, logistics stores, and enemy movement corridors.”

Battle Damage Assessment (BDA) confirmed the elimination of numerous terrorists and the destruction of vital infrastructure supporting their operations. ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) footage revealed secondary explosions, suggesting the presence of arms and fuel depots.

Follow-on strikes targeted and eliminated fleeing terrorists attempting to escape into nearby forested areas.

The operation is part of a broader, sustained air campaign designed to degrade ISWAP’s ability to regroup and launch attacks on both military and civilian targets
