Soldiers Eliminate Two Bandits In Plateau State And Seize An AK-47 Rifle

Troops of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) have neutralised two suspected bandits in Plateau State as part of their ongoing efforts to rid the region of criminal elements.
In a statement issued by Major Samson Zhakom, spokesperson for OPSH, the operation was carried out on May 15, 2025, following credible intelligence on bandit movements along Nemaledu Village in the Gimbi District of Wase Local Government Area.
“Troops of OPSH laid an ambush at a known crossing point used by the bandits. During the encounter, two bandits were neutralised, and one fabricated AK-47 rifle was recovered,” Zhakom disclosed.
He said the operation is part of a series of intelligence-led missions aimed at curbing insecurity and restoring peace to troubled communities in Plateau State.
“The commitment to clamp down on these miscreants is evergreen, and we shall not hesitate to decimate them appropriately,” the statement read.
Major Zhakom stressed that there will be no hiding place for criminals within the OPSH Joint Operations Area, reaffirming the troops’ resolve to flush out criminal elements.
