UEFA Names Europe’s Top 20 Leagues — See the Rankings!

The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has ranked the best leagues in Europe.

According to UEFA’s website, the English Premier League, (EPL), is the highest-ranked league in Europe based on their five-season club coefficient ranking.

In the latest ranking released on 20th of May, 2025, EPL holds the top spot, followed by Italy’s Serie A and Spain’s LaLiga.

Germany’s Bundesliga and France’s Ligue 1 completes the top five best leagues in Europe.

According to UEFA, the rankings are based on the results of each association’s clubs in European competition (in the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Conference League). The places allocated to each country are based on performance over the previous five seasons.

These rankings are used to determine the number of teams from each country that qualify for the UEFA competitions.

UEFA also noted that due to the suspension of all Russian national teams and clubs from UEFA competitions, no Russian clubs are participating in the current 2024/25 UEFA club competitions season.

Russia is assigned with the lowest amount of coefficient points they have earned over the last five seasons.
