University of Maiduguri Confers Honorary Doctoral Degree on VP Shettima

Chancellor of the University and Emir of Lafia in Nasarawa State, retired Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad, Conferred the degree on the Vice President.
He said this was in recognition of VP Shettima’s service to humanity and the nation.
Three other Nigerians; The Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar Ibn Garbai, Dan Masanin Adamawa, Alhaji Dahiru Bobbo and a philanthropist, Alhaji Abdul- Samad Rabiu also received honorary doctorate of Laws (LL.D); Letters (D. Litts) in that order.
The Professors Emeriti were also appointed at the historical event.
They include Professor Abubakar Mustapha, Professor Mohammed Yerima and Professor Bamidele Badejo.
Speaking on behalf of the awardees and appointees, Alhaji Dahiru Bobbo, thanked the university’s Senate and Management for finding them worthy of the awards.
He said the awardees would continue to hold the university in high esteem as the award of degrees will deeply improve their endeavors.
The 24th combined convocation of the University of Maiduguri is for graduates of 2017/18, 2018/19, 2019/20 and 2021/21 with a total of 33,429 students passing out.
