Cracked heels, also known as heel fissures, are a common foot problem that can be both unsightly and painful. They occur when the skin around the heels becomes dry, thick, and hard, eventually leading to splits or cracks.....Continue Reading Full Details Here.

While this condition can affect anyone, it is particularly common in individuals who frequently walk barefoot, have dry skin, or suffer from certain medical conditions. Understanding the causes of cracked heels and how to heal them can help prevent further discomfort and improve the health of your feet.

How To Make A Woman Wet Uncontrollable Just A Minutes - Watch Full Video

One of the primary causes of cracked heels is dry skin. When the skin on your feet loses moisture, it becomes less flexible, leading to the formation of cracks. Factors like cold weather, low humidity, and long periods of standing can exacerbate this issue.

Excessive pressure on the heels, due to standing or walking for extended periods, can also contribute to the development of fissures. People who are overweight or those who wear poorly fitting shoes that don’t provide adequate support are at a higher risk.

Other medical conditions can play a role in the development of cracked heels. For instance, diabetes can lead to nerve damage and poor circulation, making the skin on the feet more susceptible to drying out and cracking. Additionally, conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, and fungal infections may also contribute to the problem.

To help heal cracked heels, it is essential to focus on moisturizing and protecting the skin. Using a thick foot cream that contains ingredients like urea, lactic acid, or petroleum jelly can help soften and hydrate the skin.

Regular exfoliation with a pumice stone or foot scrub will remove dead skin and promote new, healthy skin growth. It’s important to wear shoes that provide proper support and avoid walking barefoot on rough surfaces.

For those with persistent cracks, particularly if they are deep or bleeding, it’s crucial to consult a healthcare provider.

Severe cases may require the use of prescription ointments or even minor medical procedures to promote healing and prevent infection. Regular foot care and maintaining healthy skin can go a long way in preventing cracked heels from recurring.
