Firstly, phones emit low levels of radiofrequency radiation when they are on, especially when connected to Wi-Fi or mobile networks.

While research is ongoing, some experts advise minimizing unnecessary exposure to such radiation during sleep, when your body is meant to rest and repair. Keeping your phone farther away reduces this risk.

Secondly, having your phone nearby can disrupt your sleep cycle. Notifications, vibrations, or even the temptation to check your messages or scroll through social media can interrupt deep, restful sleep.

Blue light from your phone screen can also interfere with melatonin production, making it harder for you to fall asleep or stay asleep.

Lastly, there are safety concerns. Overheating phones, especially when tucked under pillows, can pose a fire hazard.

For better sleep quality and peace of mind, it’s wise to place your phone at a safe distance from your bed.
