Wike Discusses Taking His Sons On Project Inspections And Work Excursions

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike has finally addressed controversies trailing his sons accompanying him to project inspections and foreign work trips.
Wike in an interview with BBC Pidgin on Saturday, said there was nothing wrong with his sons tagging along with him at work.
Recall that Wike’s sons have been captured in photos and videos joining him during inspection of road projects in Abuja.
The most recent was when one of his sons joined the minister’s team on a trip to China to meet with partners for FCT water provision and infrastructural projects.
This particular trip raised outrage among citizens with many insinuating that the minister was grooming his sons for politics or to take over key positions in the government.
However, during the interview with the BBC, Wike said there was nothing wrong with his action.
When the interviewer made an inquiry on the matter, Wike asked in Pidgin, “Which of them, because I get to sons?”
The Minister further inquired to see the picture of the particular son the interviewer was talking about from the interviewer.
After taking a look at the photograph, Wike said, “Oh! That? Oh! Handsome boy!”
“Yes, wetin dey wrong in that?” the ministers asked.
Continuing, the interviewer said Nigerians were worried that he (Wike) was grooming his son for political positions.
Again, he queried, “Wetin dey wrong with that?”
