Yamal Commits To Barcelona With A Fresh Six-year Deal

Lamine Yamal has committed to FC Barcelona until 2031, signing a new six-year contract after a breakout season that saw him play a key role in the team’s domestic treble win.

The 17-year-old Spanish winger’s impressive performances earned him a deal extension, keeping him at the club until 2031. Yamal’s rise to prominence began with his debut at just 15 years old in 2023. He went on to score 18 goals and provide 25 assists in 55 appearances, helping Barça secure La Liga, Copa del Rey, and Spanish Super Cup titles under Hansi Flick’s management.

According to the club, Yamal signed the contract in the presence of president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco, solidifying his place in Barcelona’s future.

The club praised Yamal’s rapid ascent, highlighting his record-breaking achievements, including becoming the youngest scorer in La Liga, Copa del Rey, and Spanish Super Cup history. Yamal has scored 25 goals in 115 games and has also become the youngest player to reach 100 appearances for Barça.

On the international stage, Yamal has earned 19 caps for Spain and was instrumental in their Euro 2024 victory. The teenager’s talent has drawn comparisons to Barcelona legend Lionel Messi, given their shared roots in La Masia. This contract extension comes after Barcelona also renewed the contracts of manager Hansi Flick and forward Raphinha.
