3. Mosquito Bites or Insect Stings

4. Air or Water Exposure
HIV is not airborne or waterborne. You cannot get infected by breathing the same air as an HIV-positive person, swimming in the same pool, or using the same bathroom.
5. Sharing Clothes or Towels
The virus does not survive on surfaces like clothes, towels, or bedding. Washing clothes and using shared laundry facilities pose no risk of HIV transmission.
6. Using Public Toilets or Showers
HIV cannot spread through toilet seats, showers, or any public restroom facilities because the virus dies quickly outside the body.
Understanding these facts helps reduce stigma and misinformation about HIV. The virus spreads only through specific routes, such as unprotected sex, blood transfusions (with infected blood), shared needles, or from mother to child during childbirth or breastfeeding.
