Nail cutting is a healthy habit because it helps prevent dirt and bacteria from building up in the space between the nails and fingers. If these germs were to mingle with the food that we eat, they may cause sickness.
This question can be handled from a variety of different viewpoints. Is it a matter of superstition? One definition of a superstition is a legendary belief that does not have a reasonable explanation nor a well-established foundation. There are several superstitions in every community.

When we make the decision to eliminate superstition, we must keep in mind that we are ignoring a great deal of valuable advice that has been passed down to us from generation to generation. Because of this, we need to first consider the scientific evidence that supports it in order to establish whether or not it is a question of superstition. During that time period, there was no electricity: Because of this, the nights of those days were significantly darker than they are now. The fragments of nail that you cut overnight will fall from side to side, making it tough to collect and remove them.
If you cut your nails overnight, you will have to remove them. In the event that nail debris is accidentally mixed with food and goods, it poses a risk to one’s personal hygiene and may cause allergic reactions. During that time period, nail clippers did not exist: Knives were the sole tool that people used to cut their nails. When nails were cut with knives, there was a possibility of damage and blood caused by the cutting process. On account of the fact that it was difficult to find medical assistance during the night, individuals advised against cutting your nails during the night.
There appears to be a theological explanation behind this as well: The goddess Lakshmi is said to have entered the house once the night plans have been completed. The religious belief that the goddess Lakshmi visits houses at night is something that should be respected, thus it is recommended to refrain from cutting your nails immediately after the dust has settled, preferably until seven o’clock in the evening.
As time goes on, we might not be as concerned about the dangers that our nails pose. One piece of sound advise, which may also be considered hygienic, is to bury your nails either during the day or at night after you have cut them. This is because evil spirits or black magicians are known to steal pieces.
