Type 2 diabetes is a chronic condition that affects how your body processes blood sugar (glucose), and one of its most noticeable signs can show up in your feet. Since diabetes can lead to nerve damage (diabetic neuropathy) and poor circulation, it’s important to pay close attention to any changes in your feet. Here are four symptoms to watch for:....Continue Reading Full Details Here.

1. Numbness or Tingling: One of the earliest and most common signs is a tingling or “pins and needles” feeling in your feet. It may start mildly and worsen over time, eventually leading to a total loss of sensation, which can be dangerous because injuries may go unnoticed.

2. Foot Pain or Burning Sensation: You might experience a burning feeling or sharp, shooting pain in your feet. This happens when the nerves are damaged and begin misfiring signals to the brain, even when there is no actual injury.

3. Wounds That Heal Slowly: If you notice cuts, blisters, or sores on your feet that take a long time to heal, it could be a sign of poor circulation caused by diabetes. This slow healing increases the risk of infection and ulcers.

4. Changes in Skin Color or Temperature: Feet may appear reddish, bluish, or feel unusually cold or hot. These changes are warning signs of circulation problems or inflammation, both common in advanced diabetes.

If you experience any of these symptoms, it’s important to speak to a healthcare provider promptly. Early detection and proper management of type 2 diabetes can help prevent serious complications like foot ulcers or even amputations.

Regular foot checks, proper footwear, and good blood sugar control are essential steps to protect your feet.
