Many people use ATMs daily for convenience, but careless behavior can make you an easy target for fraudsters. To stay safe and protect your finances, please avoid doing the following things when using ATMs:....Continue Reading Full Details Here.

1. Don’t Enter Your PIN Carelessly

Please Don't Ever Open This Video If You Are Not Alone

Always shield the keypad with your hand while entering your PIN. Criminals can install hidden cameras or watch from a distance to steal your details.

2. Don’t Accept Help From Strangers

No matter how friendly they seem, never allow anyone to “assist” you at the ATM. Fraudsters often act like good Samaritans to trick you into revealing personal info.

3. Avoid Using ATMs in Isolated Areas

Try to use machines located in secure, well-lit, and busy areas. ATMs in quiet or dark places are hotspots for criminal activity.

4. Never Leave Your Card Behind

After any transaction, ensure your card is returned before walking away. Some scammers use distractions to make you forget it, then clone or use it.

5. Don’t Use an ATM That Looks Tampered With

If you notice anything unusual like loose card slots, strange attachments, or unresponsive buttons, avoid using that ATM. It could be rigged with a card skimmer.

6. Avoid Counting Cash at the Machine

Take your cash, put it away discreetly, and move to a safer location. Standing at the ATM to count money draws attention and puts you at risk of robbery.

7. Don’t Ignore Transaction Alerts

If you receive a debit alert for a transaction you didn’t make, report it immediately. Delays can give scammers more time to exploit your account.

8. Avoid Using Public Wi-Fi to Check Bank Apps Near ATMs

Public Wi-Fi can be hacked. If you’re near an ATM and checking your bank app, use mobile data instead of untrusted networks.

9. Don’t Share Your ATM Card or PIN

Even people you trust today can misuse your card. Keep both your card and PIN private—no exceptions.

10. Don’t Leave Your Receipt Behind

Discarded receipts can contain partial card details or account balances. Always take yours with you or tear it up before discarding.

Conclusion:

Your safety and money are your responsibility. By avoiding these risky habits at the ATM, you reduce your chances of falling victim to fraudsters. Always stay alert, cautious, and aware of your surroundings.
