You might notice bloating, sluggish digestion, or even a lack of energy after eating. Instead, aim to drink water about 30 minutes before meals to help with appetite control and digestion.

Another critical moment is right after intense physical activity, especially if your body is still hot. Gulping down cold water quickly can shock your system, causing stomach cramps or discomfort. Take slow sips of room-temperature water instead to rehydrate safely.
