First, in Judaism, the Messiah is expected to be a human leader a king from the line of David who will bring peace, rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem, and unite all people under the worship of one God. Jesus, in their eyes, didn’t fulfill those prophecies.
Instead of bringing global peace, his time on earth was marked by conflict and, eventually, crucifixion which, to many Jews, disqualified him as the promised Messiah.
Also, Jews believe that God is one, and cannot become human or have a son in the literal sense. So the idea of God taking human form goes against their core understanding of God’s nature.
Finally, Jewish scripture (what Christians call the Old Testament) does not clearly point to Jesus, from their perspective. They believe the Christian claim of Jesus being the Messiah relies on interpretations they don’t agree with.
In short, it’s not about disrespect, but deep theological differences.
