One of the first noticeable signs is a change in the shape or size of the breast. Some women may notice that one breast becomes larger, swollen, or has an unusual contour.
Skin changes are another red flag the breast skin may become dimpled, itchy, flaky, or develop a texture like an orange peel. These changes can extend to the nipple, which may turn inward, become red, or produce a discharge that’s not breast milk, sometimes even with blood.
Breast cancer can also show signs on the underarm or collarbone area. Swelling or lumps in these areas may indicate that the lymph nodes are involved.
