It appears that bandits in Nigeria’s northwest are reorganizing after three days of assaults in Maradun and Zuru in Zamfara and Kankara LGA in Katsina. A source in the Zamfara State Police Command told NEWSHOUR Weekend that the past three days have been challenging due to many attacks in areas prone to bandits.

In Shiroror Local Government Area (LGA) of Niger State, a north-central state that shares borders with northwest states Kaduna and Kebbi, bandits ambushed and murdered six troops, including two officers.
Seven terrorists were killed in an attack in Sokoto State that was prevented by troops of the Nigerian Army and a team from the Department of State Services (DSS).

Responding to a distress call, troops from the Nigerian Army intercepted a group of armed terrorists planning to cause chaos in the Modachi general area of Isa local government area of Sokoto State, according to a statement released on Friday by the army’s official X feed.

Joint operation troops killed seven terrorists and retrieved a large stockpile of weapons, according to the statement.

The security forces attacked the terrorists, who were riding multiple motorcycles, and killed seven of them.

Along with four motorcycles, two cell phones, seven AK-47 weapons, and four machetes were also found by the soldiers.
In the North West, the Nigerian Army has recovered weapons, killed 31 terrorists, and lost 7 soldiers in ambushes in the last three weeks.
