For the Ondo governorship election on September 21, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has decided to keep talking to all the candidates, both individually and collectively, who were on its ticket so that they might find common ground when voters cast their ballots.

At the conclusion of the National Working Committee (NWC) meeting with the candidates and Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who emerged as the candidate, Duro Meseko, the APC’s deputy national publicity secretary, made these remarks while addressing journalists alongside Ade Adetimehin, the party chairman of Ondo State.

Governor Aiyedatiwa, Olusoji Adewale Ehinlanwo (a former House of Assembly member), Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, Funmilayo Waheed-Adekojo, and Hon. Akinfolarin Mayo Samuel were among the sixteen aspirants who took part in the exercise; fifteen of them made it to the meeting.

Not present were APC National Vice Chairman (South West) Isaac Kekemeke, but others included Olusola Oke, SAN, Ohunyeye Olamide Felix, Barr. Morayo Lebi, Garvey Oladiran Iyanjan, Prof. Francis Adebayo Faduyile, Judith Folakemi Omogoroye, Ifeoluwa Oyedele, and Hon. Omo’Oba Okunjimi Odimayo.

According to Meseko, everyone also agreed that the governor should begin appointing all qualified candidates for state office as soon as possible in order to create a government that is welcoming to all citizens.

“The meeting was called to address the concerns raised by some of the aspirants regarding the primaries. It was decided that the party should maintain communication with each aspirant, both individually and collectively, to find common ground for the upcoming state election. Our goal is to work together as a united family,” the statement read.
